This video goes over record vs. replay mode for tracking, VCA to Mons, small fader vs. large fader, Channel path vs. Mon path, and how to get in and out of the console and Pro Tools with the patchbay.

DO NOT put the console in mix mode while tracking, not even for a nanosecond!!! If you do, disaster, damaged equipment, and hearing loss will follow!! This is because you would create a feedback loop when Pro Tools is in record. Trust me, don’t do it.

Once you’ve decided to be in Record or Replay, you can press the Status Lock button to prevent accidentally pressing the Mix button.
